Mattia Pesce earned his degree in Physics from the University of Genoa in 2005, with his studies culminating in research on fluorescent-lifetime imaging microscopy.
From 2005 to 2007, he gained experience in R&D at ISS company in Champaign, IL, USA.
Returning to Italy, he joined the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) from 2007 to 2015, initially as a Junior Technician and later as the Supervisor of the Imaging Facility within the Neuroscience and Brain Technology (NBTIF) department.
In 2013, he completed his PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Genoa, focusing his dissertation on "Long term imaging of axonal regeneration after injury by an UV-A laser dissector system."
Since 2015, he has held the position of Senior Technician for both NIC@CHT and NEFA@CCT
