Giuseppe Di Cesare

I am Associate Professor of human physiology at the University of Parma, where my research investigates how the brain shapes human behavior during social interactions. In particular, I focus on human expressive actions, studying both their dynamics and the neural activity underlying their encoding. To address these questions, my team employs a range of techniques, including kinematic analysis, physiological monitoring, and brain imaging. Since 2016, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology, we are developing methods to translate human social and motor capabilities into the field of robotics. Our aim is to design humanoid robots that can interpret and respond to human social signals in a natural and intuitive manner.
